YOUTH ECONOMIC FORUM 2022
Introduction
The Youth Economic Forum is an annual event organized by the Business & Financial Times in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. The forum is one of the initiatives of the Mastercard Foundation towards the realization of the vision
of its Young Africa Works strategy for Ghana.
The Youth Economic Forum (YEF) was created in 2021 to become an annual convening of young people in Ghana to contribute to national dialogues on the economy, business, technology and agribusiness as part of the Ghana Economic Forum.
The Ghana Economic Forum (GEF) is the biggest private-sector-led annual convening of stakeholders (private sector, government) to discuss and propose solutions to economic challenges confronting the country and to map out policy
changes or interventions required to transform the business operating environment in Ghana.
This year’s Youth Economic Forum is scheduled for Monday, 24th October, 2022 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel. Theme “Youth voices and action for economic growth, resilience, and employment”
The theme focuses on amplifying the opinions/voices of the youth and giving impetus to their ideas. Additionally, the forum will seek to provide a platform where their views are collated to take action toward economic growth, resilience and employment, for the benefit of the youth and the entire nation.
Objective
The B&FT is committed to creating platforms that enhances dialogue between the government and stakeholders on key issues in the country that affects the average Ghanaian. The Youth Economic Forum is an annual initiative and as part of the Ghana Economic Forum for the youth to amplify young voices to affect policy and the decision-making processes.
