The criteria for this awards is follows:

  • Nominees will be companies as a whole, not individuals
  • Nominees must demonstrate exceptional financial returns, strong growth and innovation strategies, and market leadership in its sector.
  • Nominees must show evidence of originality, ethical credentials, good stakeholder relationships balanced by the flexibility to deliver consistent results in dynamic market conditions.

Businesswoman / man of the year                                                                      

The criteria for each of this awards is follows:

  • Nominees must be Ghanaian citizens conducting business in Ghana
  • Nominees must be employed by either private or public companies
  • Nominees must have been employed in their current position for at least the past three financial years
  • Nominees must hold a senior management or leadership position
  • Nominees must be considered role models within their industry and community
  • Qualities we are looking for:
  1. Business growth
  2. Innovation
  3. Mentoring and knowledge transfer

Entrepreneur of the year

The criteria for each of this award is follows:

  • Nominees must be Ghanaian citizens conducting business in Ghana
  • Nominees must be a founder and significant equity stakeholder in the business
  • Nominees must be actively involved in running the business
  • Nominees must have taken personal financial risks
  • Nominees must be considered role models within their industry and community
  • Qualities we are looking for:
  1. Business growth
  2. Innovation
  3. Boldness & courage
  4. Mentoring and knowledge transfer

Business with a conscience

The criteria for each of this awards is follows:

  • Nominees will be companies as a whole, not individuals
  • Nominees must have run successful social responsibility programs in Ghanaian communities and be able to provide proof of these projects
  • Nominees must have made significant financial and operational contributions to the projects as a company
  • Nominees projects must show evidence of community involvement and consultation
  • Nominees projects must be sustainable over a period of time and scalable
  • Qualities we are looking for:
  1. A track record of commitment to social responsibility
  2. Evidence of community involvement and consultation in projects
  3. Company financial and operational contribution to projects
  4. Sustainability and scalability in projects

Business Pioneer

The criteria for each of this awards is follows:

  • Nominees will be companies as a whole, not individuals
  • Nominated companies must have contributed to significant innovation and / or change within their industry – i.e. changed the way the industry landscape looks, and how the industry works
  • Qualities we are looking for:
  1. Companies with strong evidence of ground-breaking change – whether in service / product offerings, contribution to change in regulatory environment etc.
  2. Companies who have pushed the boundaries of how business / industry is done in Ghana
  3. Creativity and innovation

Best Public Sector Award

  • Nominees must demonstrate excellence in strengthening policy capacity, with emphasis on the way in which specific policy initiatives were carried out, in areas such as:
  • Developing, analyzing and communicating innovative and effective policy proposals that respond to government priorities through cooperation and collaboration;
  • Developing opportunities to engage and consult citizens and key stakeholders in the consideration of key policy issues;
  • Integrating regional and operational perspectives in policy research, analysis, development and implementation;
  • Enhancing long-term policy research, particularly with external partners; and
  • Strengthening the policy capacity of the sector
  • Changed the way a governmental organization operates so that it better achieves its goals
  • Achieved substantial savings in a government organization’s operations
  • Developed a cadre of other government leaders

Lifetime Achievement Awards

This goes to an individual who has:

  • Nominees must have an established history of distinguished service
  • Nominees must have made a lasting contribution to a particular practice/service/industry
  • Nominees must have exhibited leadership and provided inspiration to others in the sector
  • Nominees must have positively influenced on a state, national or international level.
  • Nominees must have 25 years, or more, of sustained service to a practice/service/industry
  • Nominees must have earned recognition by other industry, training, education or employer groups;
  • Nominees must have general acknowledgement as having reached a pinnacle of their profession or industry;
  • Nominees must have demonstrated, over an extended period of time a contribution which has included either research, industry achievement, professional leadership and service to the community
  • Nominees must have personal integrity.

General Requirements

All Nominees must:

  1. Submit an essay of up to 450 words describing the nominated organization’s or individual’s achievements since January 1 2015

    b. In bullet-list form (up to 150 words), a brief summary of up to ten (10) of the nominated organization’s or individual’s chief achievements since January 1 2015

    c. Optional (but highly recommended), a collection of supporting files and web addresses that you may upload to our server to support your entry and provide more background information to the judges

Also Provide:

  1. a) Name, address, daytime phone, title, and organization of the nominee.
    b) Name, address, daytime phone, title, and organization of the nominator.
  1. The text of the nomination should begin with a one-page summary of the accomplishments that the nominator believes makes the nominee worthy of the Award.
  1. Detailed information on specific accomplishments. This should comprise the bulk of the nomination. This could include discussions of creative and innovative programs to which the nominee has made a major contribution.

Examples of a few other awards received (need not be comprehensive) will be an added advantage.
